Painting Techniques of the Masters

The way I learned to paint was to study the process of copying an old master portrait. Using a palette of earth colors, we learned how to construct the structure of a painting. From painting an eye to the space between the eyes, we’ll explore and exploit the properties of traditional pigments and tools used by the old masters with a modern twist… acrylic paint. Why copy a master? To see how the best manipulated paint.
