Mixed Media Collage – Creating a Series

Create four 6 x 6 inch abstract mixed media paintings beginning with a 12 x 12 inch base collage, adding layers of color, shapes and lines, then dividing the piece to further develop into 4 small related paintings.

When: Saturday, April 17, 2-4 PM

• Age and skill level: adults (ages 16+), beginner level – no prior experience necessary.
• Location: AAO – Fort Ontario Complex (north end of E 4th St), Oswego).

• Cost: $19 for AAO members or $25 for non-members. All tools & materials are provided, although participants are encouraged to bring any collage materials they’d like to use in their projects.

• Instructor: Beth Sotherden, is an artist and workshop instructor. She studied painting at Syracuse University, and has taught workshops at the AAO, Salmon River Fine Art Center, and Brewerton Center for the Arts.  She has exhibited at the AAO, Salmon River Fine Art Center, and Riverside Artisans, as well as numerous group shows and several solo shows.

Pre-registration & pre-payment are required. We cannot hold a class at these costs unless we have a minimum of 4 students. Please register using the form below. You will have the option to pay immediately directly from the registration form using PayPal (you don’t need a PayPal account), or pay later using a check or money order. If the class is cancelled by the AAO, or if you cancel at least 7 days prior to the class, your entire payment will be returned. Payments are otherwise non-refundable.

Checks or Money Orders should arrive at least 7 days before the start of class. If there are fewer than 7 days before class starts and you want to pay by check, you need to contact us first. Checks should be made out to “AAO” and mailed to us at: PO Box 271, Oswego NY 13126. Please note the class name & participant name on the memo line of your check.
