Lakeside Statewide Juried Art Exhibition 2018

Eligibility: Entry into the 21st Annual Lakeside Statewide Juried Art Exhibition is open to all artists 18 years of age and older, living or working in New York State over the last 2 years. Acceptable media include: drawing, painting, sculpture, mixed media, printmaking, photography, digital media, ceramics and all fine craft. Work previously exhibited at the Oswego Civic Arts Center is not eligible. Work completed prior to 2016 is not eligible. Entries should be appropriate for all ages. All accepted works must arrive suitably framed and ready to hang or otherwise appropriately prepared for immediate installation. Unframed works or works improperly prepared may be rejected. Works may not exceed 72″ in any direction. Sculpture may not exceed 100 lbs.

Juror: The juror for this year’s exhibition will be announced soon.

Awards: $1000 in prize money will be awarded with $300 for Best of Show. Award ceremony will be held at 6:30 pm on opening night.

Gallery: The Art Association of Oswego (AAO) galleries are housed in the Oswego Civic Arts Center, which is located at the northern end of East Fourth Street in the City of Oswego, directly across from historic Fort Ontario. Regular gallery hours are on Saturdays from 10 am to 1 pm and on Sundays from 1 pm to 4 pm. The galleries are also open during art classes, theater performances and by appointment. Terms and Conditions: Artists whose work is accepted will need to check the website for delivery procedures. The Art Association of Oswego (AAO) insures artworks while on exhibit, but cannot be held responsible for any loss or damage caused during shipping. No work may be withdrawn or removed before the end of the show. Works on exhibit may be offered for sale. The Art Association does not handle sales directly or collect commission, but will put artists in touch with potential buyers. Any donations made to the Art Association as the result of a sale are greatly appreciated. The Art Association reserves the right to photograph accepted works for publicity purposes. Entry into this exhibition will constitute agreement by the artist to the terms described herein.

Lakeside 2018 Calendar
Monday, February 19 — Deadline for receipt of entry forms, information and fees (before midnight)
Monday, February 26 — List of accepted works will be posted on Art Association website by 6 pm
Friday, March 16 — Deadline for receipt of accepted artworks by mail
Friday, March 16 — Hand delivery of accepted works at the AAO from 10 am to noon
Saturday, March 17 — Hand delivery of accepted works at the AAO from 10 am to noon
Saturday, March 24 — Opening reception from 5:30 to 7:30 pm (award ceremony at 6:30)
Sunday, April 22 — Exhibition closes at 4 pm
Sunday, April 22 — Pick up work at the AAO from 6 to 8 pm*
Monday, April 23 — Pick up work at the AAO from 6 to 8 pm**
Monday, April 23 — Return shipping of mailed artwork begins

*No artwork may be removed from the exhibition prior to its closing.
**Any work not picked up within 30 days will become the property of the Art Association of Oswego

AAO Staff reserve the right to reject any submissions that are incomplete or otherwise deemed unacceptable for this exhibition.

2. SUBMIT DIGITAL IMAGES OF YOUR WORK AS ATTACHMENTS TO YOUR EMAIL:
One image of each artwork entered must be submitted as an individual jpeg file*.
Files must be 300 dpi resolution, 1 megabyte (1000 kb) or less in size please.
Each digital file must be named with artist’s last name plus a shortened version of the artwork’s title (eg: a file for Joshua Jones’ entry entitled Black Lake in Winter might be named JonesBlackLake.jpg)
