The Art Association of Oswego announces the opening of a new art exhibit at the Civic Arts Center called Eight by Ten. The show will be made up of 80 photographs–eight photographs each by ten area photographers.  Included in the show are some local favorites: Charlotte Arcadi, Robert Clark, Deborah Engelke, Bob Gates, Peter Mahan, Phillip Moore, Paul Pearce, Kimberly Rossiter, Jim Russell and Kate Zacharewski.

An opening reception will be held at the Arts Center on Saturday, June 15 from 7 to 9 pm. This event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.

According to Art Association Exhibition Coordinator Bill DeMott, “This show will include sort of an A-Z of local photographers–Arcadi to Zacharewski–with subjects ranging from still life to landscape to figure. Expect a lot of approaches to photography from traditional black and white to manipulated color collage work.  There will be something for everyone–something for everyone to appreciate and something for everyone to learn.”

The Oswego Civic Arts Center is located at the northernmost end of East 4th street in Oswego, directly across from Fort Ontario. This exhibit will be on display until Sunday, July 7.  Regular gallery hours are from 2-5 pm on weekends or by appointment. Group tours are encouraged. For further information please call (315) 343-5675 or visit them online at www.oswegoarts.org.
