The Art Association of Oswego announces the opening of an exhibition of new work by Brenda Edwards entitled INFUSE. The show will be held in the Timothy McHenry Gallery at the Oswego Civic Arts Center, and will open with a reception from 7-9 pm on Saturday, August 31.
Brenda Edwards is a painter currently living and working in Central New York, and represented by the s.h.e. gallery in New Jersey. Ms. Edwards received both her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and Master’s of Fine Arts degree in Painting from Syracuse University. Her current works are oil paintings created by adding and removing layers to create abstract compositions that are radiant and luminous. They are an attempt to reveal how light can represent an emotional moment in time.
In conjunction with this painting exhibition, the Art Association will also be displaying the results of the “Window Challenge” in the Jo Hyse Gallery on the first floor. The challenge was for artists to take home a six-pane window (an original Art Center window that was replaced during renovation) and turn it into a work of art.
As always, this event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
The Arts Center is located at the northernmost end of East 4th Street in Oswego. Regular gallery hours are from 2-5 pm on weekends or by appointment. These exhibits will continue to be on display until Sunday, September 29.
