CHILDREN’S CLASS: Friday Night Art Date

Parent (or other adult) & child (5-12 years old) come to a Friday Night Art Date once a week for 3 weeks to each create side-by-side a different crafty project.   Parents may participate with more than one child if they wish.

Session 1

1. Week 1: Tie-dye T-shirts – Learn some techniques for popular tie-dying patterns and create your own colorful clothing. Each student supplies a *pre-washed* T-shirt.
2. Week 2: Summer Keepsake Box – Decoupage a paper maché box to hold all your summer treasures.
3. Week 3: What’s in the Lake? Painting – Participants create a brightly colored underwater scene in crayons and tempera paints.

 Session 2

1. Week 4: Painted Pet Rocks or Paperweights – Bring in a clean rock or two (some will also be available) to paint and decorate to create a fun friend or pretty paperweight.
2. Week 5: ZenTangle Drawings – Learn some basic ZenTangle designs then create your own!
3. Week 6: Summer Collage – Bring photos, mementos, and other small souvenirs from your summer to create a collage of memories.

• Class size limit:  10 families
• Date(s): Fridays, 7/5 thru 7/19 (or) Fridays 8/2 thru 8/16 (students can take one session or both)

  • Location: AAO – Fort Ontario Complex (north end of E 4^th St), Oswego.
  • Cost: $18/person for AAO Members; $21/person; plus $15/person for materials (for each 3-week session)

 Pre-registration & pre-payment is required. We cannot hold a class at these costs unless we have a minimum of 4 students. If the class is cancelled due to low enrollment, your entire payment will be returned.
