ART for YOUth: Painting Nature

Painting Nature will be a beginner painting class based on Fauvism, which is a style of painting with vivid, expressionistic, and non-naturalistic use of color. Please bring photographs of trees, flowers, and other nature elements which will be used as reference images for your paintings.

Dates/Times: This 2-week class meets Mondays & Wednesdays, August 23 to Sept. 1 (4 classes)

• 10:00 – 10:30: ages 3-7
• 11:00 – Noon: ages 8+ (teens & adults are welcome to join this class if they’d like)
• Skill level: beginners
• Location: AAO – Fort Ontario Complex (north end of E 4th St), Oswego.
• Cost: $10 for ages 3-7 or $20 for ages 8+. One payment covers all 4 classes in the series.
• Class size limit: 8
• Instructor (1-2 bio sentences): Jessica holds a BFA from Nazareth College and an MFA in fashion & fine art photography from Syracuse University. She has taught several classes at the AAO and has exhibited her artwork in several galleries. She has two young daughters and is inspired by the carefree expression in a child’s painting. Pre-registration & pre-payment are required. We cannot hold a class at these costs unless we have a minimum of 4 students. Please register using the form below. You will have the option to pay immediately directly from the registration form using PayPal, or pay later using a check or money order. If the class is cancelled by the AAO, or if you cancel at least 7 days prior to the first class, your entire payment will be returned. Payments are otherwise non-refundable.

Checks or Money Orders should arrive at least 7 days before the start of class. If there are fewer than 7 days before class starts and you want to pay by check, you need to contact us first. Checks should be made out to “AAO” and mailed to us at: PO Box 271, Oswego NY 13126. Please note the class name & participant name on the memo line of your check.
