The Art Association of Oswego, Inc is currently accepting entries for the 25th Annual Lakeside Statewide Juried Art Exhibition. Entry is open to all artists 18 years of age and older, living or working in New York State over the last 2 years. Acceptable media include: drawing, painting, sculpture, mixed media, printmaking, photography, digital media, ceramics, and all fine craft.
More than $1,000 in cash prizes will be awarded. Work previously exhibited at the Oswego Civic Arts Center is not eligible. Work completed prior to 2020 is not eligible. Entries should be appropriate for all ages.
The entry deadline is Monday, Feb 28, 2022. You can find a copy of the full prospectus here, and access to the online entry forms below. Only choose one form, based on how you are paying the entry fees.
The juror for this year’s show is Linda Bigness, a Syracuse artist and author, whose award-winning paintings and encaustics have found their way into numerous important private and corporate collections. She will have the task of narrowing down some 200 entries to the 50 or 60 pieces that will become part of the show.
The March 26th reception is free and open to the public, and will feature live music, refreshments and plenty of artistic talent from across New York State. AAO exhibition coordinator Bill DeMott remarks “This is our 25th annual show, so we want to make it extra special. The show itself will be bigger and better, thanks in part to a larger downstairs gallery space.”
The Art Association is located at the northernmost end of East 4th Street in Oswego, directly across from Historic fort Ontario. Once the show has opened, regular gallery hours are Saturdays from 10 am to 1 pm and Sundays from 1 to 4 pm, or by appointment. For additional information, visit the AAO website.
